Eko was selected by the Filene Research Institute in their 2027 FiLab cohort
October 19, 2026

We’re proud to announce that Eko with AI, powered by Kiro Money, has been selected for the Filene Research Institute’s 2027 FiLab cohort.

More than 120 solutions applied for the upcoming cycle, with seven selected by credit union leaders and fintech innovators. Eko was the only solution chosen from the Member Growth & Digital Engagement category.

Through FiLab, participating credit unions will test Eko in real-world environments, learn from the results, and share their findings with Filene’s broader network of more than 500 member credit unions.

Bringing Digital Investing and AI-Powered Support Together

Eko enables credit unions to offer digital investing directly through the platforms their members already use without building specialized investment infrastructure or adding an internal investment team.

For the FiLab test, Eko’s investment experience will include an embedded AI assistant powered by Kiro Money. The assistant provides portfolio insights, financial education, and contextual support designed to help members better understand investing and confidently navigate the experience.

Together, Eko and Kiro Money address two important barriers: access and understanding. Members receive a place to invest through their credit union, along with support that makes the experience easier to use.

Moving From Possibility to Proof

The 2027 testing cycle is expected to begin in January.

Participating credit unions will work with Filene, Eko, and Kiro Money to introduce the experience, gather data, and evaluate how members respond. The research will explore whether embedded digital investing can strengthen engagement, support financial well-being, and help credit unions maintain a larger role in members’ financial lives.

FiLab’s collaborative approach allows credit unions to test emerging technology together instead of evaluating it independently. The results provide practical evidence institutions can use when deciding what to adopt, improve, or scale.

Built by Credit Unions, for Credit Unions

Representatives from nearly 40 credit unions and system partners helped shape the 2027 agenda at Filene’s Symposium in Kansas City.

Eko is honored to join Crux Analytics, Falkin, KeySavvy, Themis, Traduality, and the Financial Well-Being Response System discovery test in addressing some of the credit union industry’s most important opportunities and challenges.

We are grateful to Filene Research Institute and the credit union leaders who selected Eko. Members are already investing, and this cohort gives us the opportunity to test what happens when they can do it through an institution they already trust.
